In or Out?

I know there are pros and cons to in or out ( indoors only or outdoors only), so I decided to ask you guys....

Are you indoors only, outdoors only, or both an indoors and outdoors pet? If you are both, do you come and go at will through a pet door, or do you have to wait to go out with your food human?

My whole life, except for the alley cat period just after my birth, was indoors. The vet told HH that she should not let me go outside.

I must say that I didn't regret his advice to her, because I didn't must like the outdoors. Even when HH would carry me outside and not let me down, I didn't like the wind hitting my ears. I don't think that makes me a sissy or anything. I"m just not the romping in the grass type.

How about you? Tell me about your preferences....

We think it depends on the cat. Our human just spent a lot of $$$$ to ensure that we can go out into our tiny back space (16ft x 19 ft) and be safe. Nicki used to get over her previous fence modifications and she's hoping this will do the trick.

Truthfully, we love being outside! Nicki would be gone in a flash if our human let him go, but she doesn't agree with letting us out to roam at will.

So we have a happy medium--just enough space to catch bugs and moths and enjoy the little garden, but not so much that we get into trouble.

Well that is a hard question. We live both in and out. We make our assistant get up and let us either out or in. But we do love being outside and chasing and catching grasshoppers and what ever else we can find. Our Mom would much rather we stay inside but most of us are feral cats and would rather die than have to stay inside. There are four of us that were raised in the house but then as we got older, we were let out but we come back in a lot.
Cats are much safer inside.

We are indoors only, also. Sammy would love to go outdoors, but Andy really doesn't seem to have any interest in it.

Indoors only, But Harry wants to go out, he tries his best to get out on the deck or run out the door with the humans.

Technically, Smoke and Topaz are indoor cats, but Topaz is allowed on the back deck. Smoke doesn't have much of an interest in going out on the back deck.

We are indoors only. Georgia used to get to go out when she was young because she would pick on the other cats until she got out. Gemini would run outside if she could but I am not too curious. I am certain that if the door was open long enough and the Woman were outside I might eventually wander out but I like my house.

I get to go outside, but I have to be on a leash and harness, and mostly in my stroller. There's too many critters around here that eat little kitties, and I don't want to be a critter snack. I know there are cats here that run loose, but Mom was talking to the neighbor lady and they haven't seen the cats they usually see running loose and think the coyotes got them. I'll stay in my stroller and be safe.

We are indoor only, although we do go outside in our strollers and sometimes Mom takes us outside one at a time and sits with us in the grass; she also takes us to the garage sometimes to visit with Mommy Cat and Dadddy Cat...Mommy Cat and Daddy Cat are basically outdoor only, but they are always welcome in the house and sometimes walk through, but always go to the door to the garage=they really love their garage!...Happy day handsome friend...kisses...Calle, Halle, Sukki

I has only lived here for 2 1/2 years. I started out as "indoors" only as were most of my peeps other cats. But, last summer I started sneaking out if I had the opportunity. I never got far cuz my peeps have "eyes in the back of their heads." Anyway, M decided maybe dis year she'd take me out in a harness & leash. At first I hated the harness. Now I tolerate it. Yesterday, I had been out (M right there with me) for not even a half hour and I begged to go inside. I still don't like the harness, but put up with it if I really want to go outside bad enough.

I'm strictly an indoor cat. I started my life in the mean streets and don't want to re-live that scene. I clawed Pop the only time he tried to carry me into the hall. There are huge dogs on our floor who are waiting for a stunning little cat such as myself. My peeps have had strays that won't stay in the house and they used to let their Nickie out until he got bit in the foot and got an abscess.

Our kittehs all stay inside always coz we has seen too many tragedies wot happens to kittehs wot goes outside. To us letting kittehs outside be like sending your toddler out to play all alone.
