Anipal Photo Hunt #7: Hey that's not me!

Good Morning Critter Pals... I'm a couple days behind in putting up my response to the Photo Hunt Challenge..... Hey That's Not Me. Here it is...

1. Hey, that's not me. It's my pal Noodles...

He looks sort of like me because he has some of the cafe au lait color to him, but it's not me...

2. Hey, that's not me. It's my pal Lindsey... (Noodles' sister)

She looks sort of like me, because she's sleeping in a box. I used to love to do that, but that's not me...

3. And... hey, that's not me. It's my pal , LaLuna... (she thinks she's a movie star... hence the sunglasses)...

She doesn't look like me at all... I just threw in this picture cause it's funny... That's not me...

Be the Change for Ellie Mae

Pet Featured for Adoption this Week is
Ellie Mae

During the week, HH emailed the SPCA of North Brevard in Titusville, Florida. You remember, we featured Lucy from there last week. HH and I decided it would be good to feature a different pet from there each week. So, every Monday, you'll see a new and wonderful pet that needs a forever home. Please spread the word to anyone you know in Florida. To see more of the pets available, click on the badge for the SPCA of North Brevard in the right column...

Now, without further ado... here's Ellie Mae in her own words...

Howdy ya'll! My name is Ellie Mae. I was born in 2005, and I am a female, Coonhound mix. I was brought back to the SPCA because my owner lived on a busy street and was worried about me getting hit by a car. I need some training in order for me to understand that I can't dart out any open door. I would like a family who is active, and can take me for regular walks every day. I am very good with children and I get along with other dogs. I am also crate trained. I was heartworm positive, but the staff here has treated me and I now have a clean bill of health. Will you please come and bust me out?? Love, Ellie Mae

=^..^= Did you celebrate National Punctuation Day?

Yesterday was National Punctuation Day. Did you celebrate?

As a writer, I should have notified you of this yesterday so you could have celebrated properly on the correct day. Quite frankly, however, it's not a holiday that gets me all excited. I write words. I let HH figure out where to put the commas and question marks.

I do love to draw with punctuation and think that it's the best use of those pesky marks...

Here are a couple of my favorites....

Feel free to add your own in the comments.

Happy Caturday!!!!

Thankful Thursday...

(Oh and I'm thankful for quilts, too)

I think that during this Adopt-a-Less-Adoptable Pet Week, it's most appropriate to be thankful for our own homes. I always had a roof over my head and a loving home to snuggle into. Such a wonderful thing.

Be sure to spread the word about Lucy... (read about her here) and all the other pets featured this week who are in need of forever homes.

Thanks for all you do!!!

Anipal Photo Hunt: - Adopt a Less-Adoptable Animal

As you can see, this week is Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet Week (September 19 to 25). In honor of that challenge, I'd like to you to meet a sweet kitty in parts not too far from where I live.

Here's her story in her own words...

Hi my name is Lucy. I am a domestic short hair mix. My birthday is 6/17/2005. I was originally brought to the SPCA in June of 2008 because my owner became homeless and could not afford to take care of me and my buddy. My buddy went home with a nice family shortly after but I stayed at the SPCA till April of 2009 when a nice family finally adopted me. After only a month living in a roomy house, I was returned due to sickness in my new family. Now I am still at the SPCA having spent nearly half of my short life here. I am living in a big cat room but it is not the same as a house with a family. I am litter box trained. I get along with children and other animals. My favorite thing to do is chase around toy mice. Please come in today to give me a chance at a forever home (finally). Love, Lucy

Pet ID: 5254094 • Spayed/Neutered • Up-to-date with routine shots

If you can provide a good home for Lucy, contact the SPCA of North Brevard, Titusville, FL at

Pedigree Adoption Drive.

I read about the Pedigree Adoption Drive on many blogs and am joining in this movement. On Marg's blog, I read that Pedigree wants to raise awareness of homeless dogs by donating a bowl of food to a shelter dog for every person who becomes a "Fan" or "likes" the Pedigree Adoption Drive on Facebook. Here's the link: Go now, hungry dogs are waiting.

The next thing to do is to write about the adoption drive on your blog. Pedigree will donate twenty bags of dog food for every post about the drive.

Each year, more than 4 million dogs end up in shelters and breed rescue organizations. Pedigree created The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive to help shine a spotlight on the plight of these homeless dogs.

There are two simple guidelines:

1. One post per blog.

2. To be sure your post counts, to be sure your post results in PEDIGREE donating 20 pounds of food: Use #dogsrule when you announce your post on Twitter; use it in your post; use it as a 'tag' for your post; link to the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive Facebook fan page:

What an easy thing to do to help the shelters. Please join in and take the time to write a blog post.

Max's Mystery Novel - Episode 11

Just as a reminder, when we last left Max and the story, HH's friend and photographer, Stephanie, had just been kidnapped. Sheriff Johnson had allowed Max to snoop around Stephanie's apartment for clues.

The kidnapper called and said he would call back in an hour. In the meantime, Max had found a folder stuffed between the bookcases as if someone had shoved it there in a hurry.

If you want to read the whole story to this point, click on the Max's Mystery Novel picture in the right column and you'll find episodes 1 thru 10... If you're ready to move on.... then read this episode in Max's own words.

HH gasped when she saw the contents of the folder. I pawed at her to tell me what was in it. As I peered over her shoulder, it just looked like some old pictures to me. Why in the world would someone kidnap sweet Stephanie because of some pictures?

"Look at this Sheriff," HH said. "Max has put his paw on what they're after. I don't know why these pictures are important, but they are part of the pictures Fred turned in for his book. If they killed Fred for some of his pictures, maybe they kidnapped Stephanie for the rest of them...."

I shuddered at the thought of what they might do to Stephanie and meowed my distress to HH. "I know Max. I'm worried too," she said. "We just have to wait until they call back..."

Just as she said it, the phone rang and we all jumped...

Sheriff Johnson answered it. "Yes, we have the pictures," he said. "Okay, we can do that. Just don't hurt her..."

"We're supposed to meet them in the open pavilion in Regent Park," Sheriff Johnson said. "We'll all go together..."

"Meowwwwww," I said.

"Yes, bring the fleabag too," Sheriff Johnson said as he patted me on the head. "You never know when he might come in handy."

I resented his nickname for me, but I was too excited that he hadn't sent me home to argue the fine points.

When we arrived at the park, Sheriff Johnson rolled down the window to get a better view of the two people in the pavilion....

HH gasped. She knew I was going to make a break for it, and she was right; but the words of warning were not even out of her mouth, when I lunged over Sheriff Johnson's shoulder.

I was out the window and on my way across the field before he knew what happened. "Now, who is the fleabag, buster?" I muttered as I ran toward the kidnapper and certain danger....

Versatile Blogger Award... woooo heeee!

Ohhhhhhh... I'm so excited I can hardly write coherently... You see, my friend Dashing Wilson passed on the Most Versatile Blogger Award to me. I appreciate it and do thank him for thinking of me. Very nice thing to do....

So, I think I'm supposed to tell you seven things about myself... Here they are...

1. I'm a cat...

2. My mother was an alley cat and my father must have been a Siamese, cuz I have blue eyes and the coloring of my father.

3. I am writing a mystery novel... which reminds me, I do owe all of you the next episode of my novel.

4. HH is my food human and is forever cleaning the closet (or so it seems to me).

5. My uncle is the co-founder of a group working to make things better for all species... I'm all for that.

6. I run to the door like a puppy when the doorbell rings.

7. I LOVE QUILTS!!!!!!!!!! (pictured above... me with the material for my favorite quilt.)

I understand I am to pass this along to three others.... *drumrolllllllll*

They are:

Mariodacat ... cuz he did so much to make the Anipal Awards a success... I know others worked hard on it too, so I concatulate all of them...

CokieatheCat... cuz he works so hard at the AnipalPhotoHunt. We all enjoy that.

Shawnee the Shepherd ... cuz I love going on hikes with him through his blog...

Brian's Home... I know I have three, but I must mention (honorable mention, let's call it) Brian. He takes us on so many interesting tours with his blog. Thanks to Brian too... he is a versatile blogger, for sure.

There, of course, are many more. I appreciate all my twitter friends and blog-world friends. And again, special thanks to Dashing Wilson. Visit his blog. You'll enjoy it!

Have a fun, fantastic, fabulous Friday and the rest of your weekend too...

I'll just stay up here until HH finishes her house projects.

Hi Critter pals.... It's Friday again and I must say that I'm thrilled that the weekend is almost here. HH has been running all week... If you remember, last week she cleaned out the big, walk-in closet.... or I should say she helped clean it out... Anyway, she got so busy this week that she didn't have time to sort the rest of the junk and clear it out of here.

I'm hoping she'll finish the job this weekend... I do like order. I have learned my way around the piles and boxes though. I'll keep you posted on her progress. For now.... Have a wonderful weekend.

Photo Hunt #4... My Bed

Naps, naps naps. That's what this week's photo hunt topic reminds me of. We're supposed to publish a picture of My Bed. I sleep anywhere. Here's a taste of the wonderful beds I enjoy...

Here I am asleep on HH's desk....

And here I am asleep in my favorite spot on the porch...

And here I am asleep on the ottoman...

In summary... my bed is wherever I am when my eyes close... Have a great day.
