Max on ... my quilt

This time of year, the best thing in the whole world is a quilt. Have you snuggled into the warm folds of a quilt on a cold day? Well, I have and I'm not called Max The Quilt Cat for no reason. There is nothing better than a good quilt.

Here I am several years ago on the quilt that HH made for me. Don't ya just love the bright colors? Color is only one aspect to consider when choosing a quilt.

What to look for when test-driving a quilt.

Comfort... First, Look for the "comfortability" factor. That is the most important of all the criteria for choosing a quilt. Is the quilt stiff and unforgiving or is it smooth, thick, and lush? Can you just sink right into it? Well if you can, that's what you want to look for in a quilt.

Accessibility... Next, determine the accessibility factor. Is the quilt sitting on the sofa or bed so you can get at it in a heartbeat, or does your human bean keep it in a plastic bag in the closet? No matter how comfy a quilt is, take away points if it's in a plastic bag... those bags can be dangerous.

Privacy... Does your human bean shooo you away when you sit on the quilt? We need undisturbed naps. I chose obscure quilts over the prettiest one in HH's line of view every time. After all, undisturbed sleep is important.

Completion... Finally, is the quilt finished? I made the mistake of trying to curl up in a quilt that wasn't quite finished. Got stuck with pins... owwwwwww.... not a good thing.

Okay pals... with this list in mind, you are now ready to go forth and conquer the quilts of the world. Happy Hunting.

Max, you point out some very important factors when choosing a quilt. I'll have to remember to tell our CHristmas kitty when we get him/her in the coming days!
I'm very excited to meet our new family member!

We haven't had many cold days but on those days we think of as cool, we snuggle on mama's bed where she has a quilt.

Quilts are really snuggly if you're lucky enough to have cold weather.

Your quilt is gorgeous, Max. And an excellent list of criteria it is, for a good one! We have blankies, but no "quilt!"

Good list of criteria! Though for me as long as I can lay down on it then its good enough =D

Max--the bright colors become you! You mom is so crafty--I wish Tommy was. I feel Tommy cannot be taught anything crafty unless it includes ice cream. Would you share your quilt with me?

I have never seen the only quilt that my human has because it is not here, it is in a trunk at her dad's house, and it was made many decades ago by her late maternal grandmother (it's an antique!), so I get the feeling I won't be getting to nap on that anytime soon.

That's a great quilt! We don't have to worry about unfinished ones here, because our mom doesn't sew (or cook, or much else - worthless!). And Fuzzy agrees with you about obscure, unseen quilts for peaceful napping, but I like to be seen at all times (and see my mom), so I choose my nap spots different. Hugs to you, Mr. Max!

Love, Zoe

Hi Max. Thanks for stopping by! We love your own purrsonal quilt...Meowmy recognizes the Laurel Burch fabric in it! She's made "cat mats" (small, purrsonal size quilts for cats) for lots of our friends but we don't have any of our own yet! We do make a point of sitting on all of her quilts in process, though!
