And Roscoe's human servant, John Watkins, contributed as well. This book is the real deal. If you're a cat lover, you will enjoy this book. If you're an avid golfer, you will enjoy this book. If you're both, you will absolutely twirl your tail over this book.
A Golfer's Tail is the story of Roscoe Watkins, the greatest all-species golfer of them all. It chronicles, in delightful detail, Roscoe's quest to capture the double slam in 1998. Tournament-by-tournament, the details unfold of Roscoe's quest to win not only the four major tournaments on the regular feline golf tour but the tournaments on the senior feline golf tour as well.
In his own words, Roscoe describes his love of the game, the challenges he met, how helpful his trusty caddy and sister Maggie was throughout the quest, and the patience Roscoe chose to demonstrate despite being continuously tormented by his chief competitor, Nakamura, from Japan.
Roscoe imparts play-by-play commentary of the chief tournaments as well as many helpful hints and special tips to improve the golf skills of cats of all levels of golfing expertise. And he provides a handy glossary in the back of the book for those of you new to the game.
Readers will find the story in this book entertaining and informative, while enjoying the wonderful illustrations throughout the book, included to demonstrate the finer points. I am pleased to recommend this story of a cat on a quest and the superb example of sportsmanship he presents along the way.
Thank you Roscoe for writing this manuscript and thanks to John Watkins, Roscoe's human servant, for pursuing its publication.
I am happy to give it 4 out of 4 paws without reservation.
