During the week, HH emailed the SPCA of North Brevard in Titusville, Florida. You remember, we featured Lucy from there last week. HH and I decided it would be good to feature a different pet from there each week. So, every Monday, you'll see a new and wonderful pet that needs a forever home. I was born in 2005, and I am a female, Coonhound mix. I was brought back to the SPCA because my owner lived on a busy street and was worried about me getting hit by a car. I need some training in order for me to understand that I can't dart out any open door. I would like a family who is active, and can take me for regular walks every day. I am very good with children and I get along with other dogs. I am also crate trained. I was heartworm positive, but the staff here has treated me and I now have a clean bill of health. As you can see, this week is Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet Week (September 19 to 25). In honor of that challenge, I'd like to you to meet a sweet kitty in parts not too far from where I live.
HH gasped when she saw the contents of the folder. I pawed at her to tell me what was in it. As I peered over her shoulder, it just looked like some old pictures to me. Why in the world would someone kidnap sweet Stephanie because of some pictures?
"Look at this Sheriff," HH said. "Max has put his paw on what they're after. I don't know why these pictures are important, but they are part of the pictures Fred turned in for his book. If they killed Fred for some of his pictures, maybe they kidnapped Stephanie for the rest of them...."
I shuddered at the thought of what they might do to Stephanie and meowed my distress to HH. "I know Max. I'm worried too," she said. "We just have to wait until they call back..."
Just as she said it, the phone rang and we all jumped...
Sheriff Johnson answered it. "Yes, we have the pictures," he said. "Okay, we can do that. Just don't hurt her..."
"We're supposed to meet them in the open pavilion in Regent Park," Sheriff Johnson said. "We'll all go together..."
"Meowwwwww," I said.
"Yes, bring the fleabag too," Sheriff Johnson said as he patted me on the head. "You never know when he might come in handy."
I resented his nickname for me, but I was too excited that he hadn't sent me home to argue the fine points.
When we arrived at the park, Sheriff Johnson rolled down the window to get a better view of the two people in the pavilion....
HH gasped. She knew I was going to make a break for it, and she was right; but the words of warning were not even out of her mouth, when I lunged over Sheriff Johnson's shoulder.
I was out the window and on my way across the field before he knew what happened. "Now, who is the fleabag, buster?" I muttered as I ran toward the kidnapper and certain danger....
Ohhhhhhh... I'm so excited I can hardly write coherently... You see, my friend Dashing Wilson passed on the Most Versatile Blogger Award to me. I appreciate it and do thank him for thinking of me. Very nice thing to do....
