Good morning pals.  It's, of course, Tuna Tuesday again and I know that makes the boys happy and I hope you too.  I hope you'll find a way to sneak a little tuna into your life today.

While you're having your tuna, I thought I might tell you something very important about Halloween... Did you know that the Humane Society doesn't  let people adopt black cats near Halloween for fear that they will be harmed...?

It  never occurred to me that people might be mean to black cats around Halloween.  But if there's some evidence that it's true, I want all my pals out there to be extra careful with adoptions this month and be extra careful about going outside unsupervised.

Thanks to the nice lady from the Humane Society of South Brevard for passing this information along to HH.  And now I'm passing it on to you.... Be careful and prepare for a fun and happy Halloween...

Oh... and have a happy Tuna Tuesday!!! And remember, Max loves ya!

My human found this out over a decade ago, when there was a black kitty at the pound she wanted to adopt... and then she showed up the day after and somebody had already adopted him! That is how she wound up with Binga.

I personally loathe halloween and all it stands for! Even if it is made into a fun thing for kids. Just saying .....

Now tuna! That's another thing completely :)

Did someone say TUNA ... my gang can hear the can opening and they line up.

I had heard that about the orange and black cats. I am one to always think positive but sometimes it's hard to do that when you things like that ...

Tons of love back at'cha Max for the lovely bowl of tuna...
My uncle was owned by a black cat for 19 years...her name was Ursala.
Once when Mom and Dad were visiting my uncle they slept on his sofa bed. Mom woke up one morning to find Ursala sitting on the back of the couch with her paw playing with Mom's bangs.

It's sad but true! Black cats are not safe many times during Halloween.
We had a black cat years ago who was injured on Halloween. The vet said he thought someone had threw him a long distance. Maybe from a roof, he didn't know for sure.
All my animals are inside now!

We're drooling over that tuna. Our mom won't let us have any.

it is pathetic they need that restriction, but fortunate for the cats that aren't harmed. Some people are real animals!

We aren't kitties but we do love our tuna:)

That is just awful that black kitties are in such danger at this time. We hope none get harmed in any way.

We'll be sure to have some tuna today too!

happy Tuna Tuesday! Mom worries about the black outside kitty. We have not seen him in a week!

Oh, we LOVE the tuna here, too. Our shelter doesn't adopt blck kitties out near Halloween, either.

rumpydog said...

Well, that would make sense. Black cats are less likely to be adopted than other cats, so a sudden run at Halloween would seem odd.

How anyone could even think of hurting a black cat is beyond us!!
