The Lamp

Well, it has taken me a few days to get to this, but HH had to charge the battery in the camera and take the picture. Knuckles was very embarrassed by his faux paw... but it was just a mistake. He wasn't trying to take out the lamp. It was not a grand statement like back in the old days when I used to tackle lamps to make it dark ... a declaration that it was time for bed.

In Knuckles' case, he was just sitting on the bookshelf with his head up the lampshade... who knows why... when he decided to jump down, he forgot to take his head out of the lampshade and this is the result.... It's a miracle that the lamp didn't break...

HEE HEE... That boy cracks me up...

Have a great Memorial Day everybody... and take time to remember...

Easy Like Sunday with Max and The Boys

Good Morning... As you can see, the boys have picked out their Easy Like Sunday spot. We'll see how long that lasts once HH discovers them -- especially since it looks like they've rearranged the towels a bit to make it more comfortable.

Hope you're looking forward to an easy Sunday. While you're enjoying yourself, stop by the CB Auction today... Here's the link... http://catblogosphereauctions.blogspot.com/

Have a great day everybody.... Tomorrow pictures of the lamp.

Pawhugs!

Bugsy and Knuckles Sketch

Good morning pals....

HH is in the other room. So I have to make this quick. She has been working on cartoon sketches of Bugsy and Knuckles since their Gotcha Day... And, I fear it could go on forever without her making a decision on how each of the boys will look and without making progress on moving on to the actual cartoons.

So, I decided to take matters into my own paws and show you the preliminary sketch of the boys. Now, she'll have to move on to drawing the cartoons. Hee hee, nothing like posting something on the Internet. It does spell commitment.

The boys wanted to post it themselves and tell you all about the stripes on Bugsy's forehead and the wavy line on Knuckles' forehead... That's the distinguishing factor. But, I told them that it's best if I posted it, so I would take the heat when she finds out... So, here it is... Now, I'm pushing the post button, ducking and running.

Have a great day..........! And remember, Max loves ya!

TGIF -- Knuckles

Good Morning Everyone....

It's my turn and boy do I have something to tell you. First of all, if you hear something about a broken lamp, I didn't do it. Just saying,... there might be a picture floating around later and a story saying I was following in Max's footsteps (if you read his book, The Zen of Max, you'll know what I'm talking about). Anyway... the lamp... well... enough said.

Today, I'm here to tell you that it's FRIDAY and to wish you a Happy Weekend. We're gonna be hanging around the house, but I think I heard HH say she was going to take us for a ride in the car this weekend. Hope so, cuz we get treats in the car... Love that.

Anyway, there's been a great response to Project Toto... you can still participate. Just go to Tank's Two Cents and read about it.

Have a great and safe weekend everybody...!!! TGIF!!

Join in on Project Toto...

Hi Pals:

Today I'm coming to you instead of Knuckles. He'll be back with you tomorrow... But I received a notice from Zoolatry that there is an important project (Project Toto) going on to help the animals from the Joplin Humane Society. That area was so devastated by the storms.

Anyway, read all about it over at Tank's Two Cents... It seems they need blankets the most, but there's lots of information about ways we can help in the latest few blogs by Tank... Go to Tank's Two Cents for the details...

Thanks.... Max

Bugsy on Francesca and Sophie

YAY!!!!!!

*jazz paws* oh, once more... *jazz paws*... I'm so excited. You remember my first post... It was last Tuesday and I put up the picture of Smith and he had all those little brothers at the SPCA too. Well, this morning when I went to find my next post, none of those puppies are there. I'm not saying they were adopted because of me. I'm just saying they weren't in the listing and that means they were adopted... *jazz paws*.

Now today we have two little sister kitties...

Look at these cuties...

This is Sophie (ID number: 13128841 )

and this is Francesca (ID Number: 13128871)

They are sisters and here's their story in Francesca's own words...

Hello there,
My name is Francesca! My sister, Sophie, and I were found in a house with 100 other cats! We were taken to a county shelter, but they soon ran out of room for us. We were brought here so we would have a chance to find our FURREVER home together!! The girls here take very good care of us, but we would love a home to run around in and play. We would love for you to come by and see us both!

Love, Francesca

Breed: Domestic Longhair Mix
Gender: female

They are in Florida at the SPCA of North Brevard. Visit their website to inquire about them. Please let people know about them there... Thank you very much...!

Oh... and Max wants me to wish all of you a Happy Tuna Tuesday...

Max on Mondays - Strollers... looking for advice

Hi Pals. It's my day to blog... Actually everyday is my day, since it's my blog, but I have been sharing the duties with the boys. It worked out well last week.

So, today, I want to ask you a question. As you know the boys are growing and HH is wanting to take them for car rides periodically to make sure they don't turn out to be screamers like she says I was. But the problem is getting the two of them to the car from the third floor condo. She wants to take them both at once, so she doesn't have to leave one in the car while she goes back up for the other.

I've been doing some research for her and found the stroller in the picture above. Has anyone used this? She's hoping to put both boys into it... they like to be together after all... and push them down to the car. Then, she'll use it for a carrier in the car....

So let me know if you know anything about it. This one is about $124. Do you know of anything cheaper? Here's the website for the stroller... in case you want to take a look at it.

Thanks for the help.

Have a great Monday, everybody.... And our purrs go out to those tornado victims last night...

Easy Like Sunday

Hello Everybody... The boys are zipping around the condo on their last bursts of energy before we all settle into Easy Like Sunday. It's been a busy week with the "grounding" and all.

While we're napping today, HH said she's gonna take a look at the condo and see if there aren't ways she can make it a little less tempting for the boys... HEE HEE.. Good luck on that HH!

Anwyway... just wanted to stop by and tell you all to have a great day.

Whatever the case, take it Easy today.

Saturday, May 21, 2011

Anything for a treat...

HH received this in the mail... This cat cracks me up. Enjoy!

Hope you're having a great weekend.

pawhugs, Max

Max on... community service

Oh...oh... HH did read yesterday's post, so she did find out about Knuckles part in the Great Art Heist (or attempted heist), so both boys will spend today doing community service... (e.g., straightening their toys, reciting the rules about leaving paintings and photography on the walls, etc.)

Despite running amuck, they did a good job for their first week of blogging. So the training continues.

I'm just here to wish all of you a great weekend. We're going to take it easy over here. HH is off to a wonderful creativity workshop in Orlando on Saturday, but the boys and I will be hanging out.

Whatever you decide to do... have a great weekend. And remember... Max Loves Ya!!

Thankful Thursday -- Knuckles

Knuckles.... my turn

"Hey Bugsy, does HH read the blog? No!? Great.

(So, I want to tell you what happened, but HH thinks I had nothing to do with this, so it's our little secret, right?)

Yesterday, Bugsy and I wanted to get a closer look at Jay Decator's painting (it's the one HH got at the All for Love benefit). So we were gonna take turns doing this...

See the hook on the wall? That's where the painting was.

But, I never got my turn, cuz Bugsy knocked the painting off the wall (yep, clean off the wall). I snapped this picture of him before I slipped into the hallway to act nonchalant, innocent, and surprised.

Well, Bugsy didn't know how to get down. So when HH responded to the commotion, she had no doubt who to blame...

I think the pass-through might be closed for a day or two...

Oh, and Bugsy is grounded, so I'll be hanging out with him on the ground today.

Have a great day, and since it's Thankful Thursday, I'll tell you that I'm thankful for letting Bugsy go first... hee hee hee...

Bugsy's First Blog Post

Good Morning.... or Afternoon...

I'm Bugsy and this is my first blog post by myself. (If you'd please tell Max I did okay, I'd appreciate it... I'm a little nervous here.)

My job today is to tell you about Smith and his brothers. You see, he's at the SPCA of North Brevard. That's where HH found us (Knuckles and me) and see how great that turned out.

Anyway, Smith needs a home... So do his brothers. So, if you know anybody in Florida, please spread the word. They are babies.... so wouldn't it be great if they could be in a home during their first year... Yes, it would.

So here's a picture of Smith...

Cute, huh?

And, here's Smith's story in his own words...
Hey there! My name is Smith, and I am a male boxer mix who has born March 22, 2011. I was brought to the SPCA along with my brothers.

My favorite toys are anything I can get my mouth on, but mostly stuffed animals. I am going to be a large boy, so apartment life is not the best for me.

Please be patient as you help me learn commands and to be housebroken. I would love a home where I can be an inside dog, and have a nice fenced in yard to go play in when I need to get my regular exercise.

Please come down today and give me a chance at my forever home with you.

Love, Smith

ID Number: 13027581
Breed: Boxer/Mix
Age: almost 2 months
Gender: male

Again, he's in Florida at the SPCA of North Brevard. Visit their website to inquire about him. Please let people know he's there... Thank you very much...!

Oh and Max said to tell you to have a great Tuna Tuesday everybody!

Max ...on Monday

There's lots to tell you today pals.,.

First... Looky, Looky at the new header Judi from Sammy, Andy and Shelly sent to me yesterday as a surprise. We're all thrilled with it. It's beautiful!!!

Thank you Judi and SAS. Now I have two beautiful headers. This one from Judi and the one from Ann at Zoolatry. Woo hooo... I'll be able to change them out on a seasonal basis. ... very uptown over here now. Thanks...

It's a perfect day for a new header because I'm beginning to train the boys to do some of the blogging... So, it's a new beginning over here. Yep. yesterday, I pretended to snooze too long to see what would happen if I neglected the bloggie. Well, Knuckles jumped right in, didn't he? That showed me that the boys are ready for me to train them to help with the blog... So, we'll all be blogging to you as they learn the ropes.

Today's News... It's shuttle time. It's a go down here for the shuttle to launch. Launch time is 8:56 am. I'm suited and ready in case they need me to stand in. I'll keep you posted on the progress over there.

Well... that's it. Have a great Monday. And thanks again to Judi for the new header...

Easy Like Sunday

Good morning.... Knuckles here.... Max is sleeping in, so thought I'd take the initiative and put up the Easy Like Sunday post this week. How hard can it be? After all, it's called, Easy Like Sunday.

We'll be resting up today. Max especially is taking it easy. The shuttle is supposed to go off tomorrow morning, so, Max is on standby. We have our paws crossed that the launch takes place as planned... We'll send you an update in the morning on that.

Now... my job is to tell you to have a great day. I'm off to assume the napping position and get into my Easy Like Sunday frame of mind.

Have a good one.

Yay... Blogger is back.

Yay.... Blogger is back... Yesterday's post is missing. They wiped it out. Hope they find it, but if they don't I'll just move forward. I did read most of yesterday's comments before they wiped it out. So, that's good anyway. Just glad it didn't all happen during the Blogoversary last week.

The reason for the picture of me in my sunglasses is that I'm working on the laptop and that's the only picture of me this computer has to offer... HEE HEE....

So it's Friday... What's up for you this weekend? We're on patrol on the glassed in porch. There's a bird on the roof who has been taunting Knuckles... We're taking shifts watching out for him.

Hope you have a great weekend no matter what you have planned... I'm on my way around to see all today's blogs quick in case blogger is still a bit unstable.

Thankful Thursday -- Thankful for Blogger

Oh Nose, Blogger was down. It scared me.

On this thankful Thursday, I'm thankful for Blogger... Yep, you heard me right. This morning when I signed on to write my blog, Blogger was doing maintenance and was on read only status.

I must tell you that not being able to get to my dashboard gave me a start. I thought, "Oh nose, what if I can't get to it all day... or all week... or all month....? What then?"

Luckily it didn't happen. It's back as you can see and the knot in my stomach is gone. It reminded me though that I do take Blogger for granted and that I don't want to be separated from all of you like that again. I mean it must have been twenty or thirty minutes.... But that little blip was enough to make me realized that I'm thankful for Blogger.

Have a great day, pals. I'll be visiting all your blogs later in the day....

Blogoversary Day --Grand Prize Day!!!

Shhhhhh.... the Party is supposed to be over, but it continues today.... HH is away, so we (Bugsy and Knuckles) decided to continue to party all day long without supervision.

But, before we party, let me tell you about the wonderful picture above. It was made especially for us by our dear friend Ann at Zoolatry. She does beautiful work and sent along this little message about the picture...

...the confetti and the streamers are hand-made by Maggy and Zoey and are edible!

They are made from their very special recipe blend of a little nip, some tuna juice, a hint of salmon and a secret ingredient.

Shape into stars and streamers. Bake well. Toss! Eat! Enjoy!

So no one need worry about going home with messiness in their furs or their teeth! Enjoy!!!
How great is that?!!! Thanks Maggy and Zoey for such a wonderful contribution to the party, and thanks to Ann for the picture.

Now... we have one more bit of business then it's on to partying. It's time to announce the Blogoversary Grand Prize Winner... and... the winner is....

__The ISLAND CATS__

Congratulations to Zoey, Ernie and Wally....

Send me your snail mail address at maxthequiltcat@gmail.com and
we'll send the grand prize box off to you...

Again... Thanks to everyone for a great two years... Now on to the new blogging year ahead.

Max Loves Ya!!!

Blogovesary - Day 7 - Sunday

The Blogoversary is really on May 9th, but HH has appointments that day. So, today is the Celebration Day. Tomorrow will be the Grand Prize Day. I'll announce the grand prize winners before HH leaves for her busy day.

First business today is this wonderful card that Judi at Sammy, Andy and Shelly made for us. Thank you Judi. We love it...!!!!!!! It's not only a beautiful card, but a keepsake to remember the blogoversary...

Thanks to all of you for stopping by all week and for all the comments you've left.

Hope you all have a special day. So, party down pals.

Blogoversary Day 6 - Saturday

[ Note: a couple of you asked about the mystery novel from Wordy Wednesday, May 4th. Just wanted to let you know that HH and I are co-writing it into a full-length story. I'll let you know when it's ready... Probably within the next couple months.]

Blogoversary Day 6

Yesterday we featured the boys' favorite pictures of me. Today, I decided to feature my favorite pictures of the boys. They are growing fast, and as you know, they are into everything.

Bugsy discovered the tape measure first.

Knuckles loved flying from the china cabinet.

Then, he took over the tape measure.

And Bugsy moved on to the mouse... They are happy...

Hope you have a wonderful day...

Have a great Friday!!!

Bugsy and Knuckles Here: Let us just say that we wanted to show you all the pictures in the Max picture file, but HH said no. So we picked out a few of our favorites. Enjoy!

Here's Max with one of his favorite quilts. He
looks all fluffy in this picture. Must have been lots of static in the air.

And here's Max with his friend the pelican...

Here's Max's portrait painted by Susan Kessler

and here's Max when he took you on that guided tour of the Farmer's Market

and here he is on his favorite quilt... in a sun puddle.
What could be better than that?

Thankful Thursday Blogoversary Message

Today's Blogsversary message is a little sappy, so stick with me here... You know I can't go the whole week without getting a little sentimental.

Since it's Thankful Thursday, I thought today would be the right day for the "heart-felts" and the "leaky eyes", so.... on this occasion of my 2nd blogoversary, I want say how grateful I am for all the wonderful friends I've made on the Internet. I wanted to list all of you individually, but I'm so afraid of leaving someone out, that I decided that wasn't such a good idea.

So, for now... let me say....

Thanks to all of you. Our lives are so much better because you're in them.
xoxoxo
Max, Bugsy, Knuckles and HH

Tune in tomorrow for details about our next Blogoversary Give Away! Til then... have a great day.

Wordy Wednesday at the Blogoversary Party

Blogoversary week continues here at my blog... You newbies (those of you who are just visiting the blog for the first, second or so time) might not know Knuckles and Bugsy. They are the two new kitties that HH rescued in January. I am working as hard as I can to raise these boys to be the best they can be. They are full of the devil, however, as you can see as you look through back blog posts.

Anyway, they have really perked up the blog. So I wanted to devote a day to a piece of their choosing. And, they chose for me to publish a little of my mystery novel. Some of you may remember that I wrote a mystery novel that I posted in segments on the blog.

Here's an exciting scene that Bugsy and Knuckles chose for me to publish today in honor of the Blogoversary...

It was a dark and stormy night -- one to be avoided at all cost -- when Max hitched up his courage and stuck his nose out the cat door. He had heard a noise in the backyard and knew it was up to him to investigate.

He stepped through the door with one front paw and turned his head to the right...nothing. Just as he was about to swing his head in the other direction, the hairs on his back stood up in response to a glint of metal he caught out of the corner of his eye. Too late to turn back, Max.... had only a split second to decide what to do in order to evade the nefarious interloper. Instinct took over; and for better or worse, he ran straight ahead in a flash. Unfortunately, he discovered the error of his thinking too late.

Whooooooooooosh! Max flew off the second story landing and found himself airborne. As he zoomed through the air, he prayed that the saying, "Cats land on their feet" held true ...

Bugsy: Don't ya just love exciting stories. This is me, hanging onto HH
cuz the story skeered me... !

... Blogoversary details...

Be sure to leave a comment. We're gonna draw for the Amazon.com
gift certificate at the end of today and announce it tomorrow...

And don't forget to sign onto the "follow gadget". HH will contribute a dollar to the SPCA of North Brevard for every new follower. And, she's also agreed to contribute a dollar for every copy of The Zen of Max (the book about me) sold during this week...

Have a great day...!!

Blogoversary Week Ahead: First Picture

Before we start...Important Public Service Announcement... A friend give me this tip that Easter Lilies are deadly to cats... Thought you should know in case you have a lily or two hanging around from Easter or if you get one for Mother's Day. Here's an article with more information...
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2003/03/030321080543.htm

Now, onto the Blogoversary...

As the boys told you, it's my 2nd Blogoversary on Sunday, so we're starting to celebrate now. It's gonna be a fun week.

Today, I'm showing you the first photo I ever posted. It's a bit of humor. Back when I started the blog, only one kitty commented on the post with this picture in it, so I think it's safe to say that most of you haven't seen it before.

HH has decided to give a couple of prizes this week. One of them will be a $10.00 gift certificate to Amazon.com so you and your bean can put it toward a book you'll enjoy. The drawing for that will be on Wednesday night and announced on Thursday...
Enter a comment today or tomorrow to enter. Woo hooo....

Have a great day....

And don't forget to pass the word...

It's my blogoversary week.. and we're having a celebration day next Sunday. Two things will be going on all week in honor of the blogoversary....

1. For every new blog follower we get, HH will give a dollar to the SPCA of North Brevard. So, sign up using the follower gadget in the right column ... we'll keep up with the number. Now the number is at 171, so that will be a starting point. Tell all your friends to come follow MaxTheQuiltCat.com and HH will pay up on the Blogoversary Day.

2. For every book (
The Zen of Max - a memoir of great wisdom and many naps) purchased on Amazon.com... either in book or in e-book format, HH will give $1.00 to the SPCA of North Brevard. Go to Amazon.com to purchase books, or send your friends the Amazon page. The more we sell, the more money for the charity.

Easy Like Sunday

Bugsy is picking his Easy Like Sunday spot. He'll be settling in soon. I think someone (Knuckles) is already in position under the blanket... Might not be such an easy Sunday after all.

Just a couple of notes. If you haven't read about Precious, please go to Brian's Home and read about her and spread the word. It's important to find her a home.... Thanks.

Also, if you missed the poem on my post yesterday, take a gander. It's wonderful and was sent to me by a lady who read my book. So great ...

Have a super day.

Max loves ya!!
