Max on... Happy Birthday Bugsy and Knuckles...

Wooooohoooooo...! It's the first birthday for Bugsy and Knuckles.... I'm so glad you stopped by for their party.

First, HH and I want to thank Ann of Zoolatry for the wonderful new banner in honor of the boys' birthday and for the birthday picture. I thought I should spruce up the blog in honor of the occasion and Ann helped me do that...



The boys weren't sure what a birthday was and what presents were, but they caught on quick enough. At first they were more interested in the bag than in the prezzies. You know how that goes. But that soon changed.



My good pals, The Great Noodles and his sister, Lindsey, (they live just down the street and you might remember them from last year when they came over for summer camp when their parents went out of town on vacation).... anyhoooooo, they gave Knuckles and Bugsy this catch-it-if-you-can thingee... and they love it.

Here it is still in the bag. HH turned it on and the boys didn't know what to make of the dancing bag...



Here it is, out of the bag. It has a motor and swings around randomly.... Bugsy is pretty good already at catching it.



And the boys got a tunnel... The tocks and tail here belong to Knuckles... He sat that way for a long time before venturing all the way in...




And the favorite prezzie of them all - ta-da-... THE TURBO TRACK... The boys are already asking for extension pieces so they can make the track cover the entire condo ...



So.... enjoy the party. HH has baked a cake made of a mixture of tuna and sponge cake. You don't want to miss that.

And I think there are some snackies with a bit of nip in them too.

It's a surprise..... shhhhhhhhhhh....

Hi pals... I told HH that I would announce very quietly that the boys, Bugsy and Knuckles, are having their first birthday on Sunday.... They don't know it, but we are going to throw them a little party. So stop by to see us on Sunday.

I just love surprises and I do love being in the know. The boys are oblivious. I don't even think they know they are turning one. Hopefully they will catch onto the birthday concept quickly. HH snuck some prezzies into the spare bedroom and closed the door the other night, so I'm sure they are getting some new toys. They'll love that.

Anyway, you are all invited. Have a great weekend...

Max on air conditioning

Thanks to all of you who sent the boys and HH well wishes about the air conditioning yesterday. I'm happy to report that it's fixed. Yay!!!!!!

It was a long day of waiting. The boys and even Mr. Cow (the toy) were stretched out on the floor from the heat yesterday while they waited for the A/C doctor to arrive.



Finally, they heard the elevator and sat up to watch Dr. A/C walk toward the door....


While Dr. A/C was in the closet checking things out, Bugsy moved closer to make sure he was going to make it cooler. At one point, Bugsy even climbed into the tool bag (Bugsy's snoopervision is very thorough).


In the end, cool air was flowing in no time and everyone got a good night's sleep last night.

Thanks again for all your encouraging words yesterday.

Max on Mondays... in praise of the air conditioner...

Oh...oh.... pals.... We had a very, very, very, hot night here...

I know that the TV says that it's hot outside, but the hot never comes into the condo.

Yesterday, late afternoon, the inside of the condo started heating up and now we are just slugging around and shedding like crazy.

HH says that the thingee called the air conditioner is not working right. It was blowing warm air instead of cold. So, we had to turn it off and wait for a man to come to give it a physical and make it healthy again. In the meantime.... we are having a hot morning.

Bugsy on Easy Like Sunday...

Good Morning everybody....

Hee... Hee... We've been up since 2:30AM... don't ya just love that early morning running and chasing?

We try to do it quietly so we don't wake up HH, but you know, it's impossible for us to keep to our game plan. Inevitably in the chasing, we happen to run right over her sleeping body. Usually that wakes her up and this morning was no different.

So... I think we'll be taking it Easy Like Sunday and HH will too.... Hope you can find a cool space to space out. Have a great one.

Knuckles on ... Toys with Feathers

Happy Saturday.... I don't know about you, but I'd love to invite real feathers (ones attached to birds) in the condo to play, but HH said that it's not allowed. So, the next best thing is a toy with feathers. Don't you just love 'em?

So, it's hot, hot, hot here, so I'm gonna play on the tile floor with my feathers and nap a bit today. Bugsy will probably join me. We also had a visitor this week. HH said that his name is chameleon. We had a few minutes of chase, then it was over.

HH said we can not have a chameleon as a pet, but Bugsy and I are hoping to invite a few more in from the garden so we can start a circus. Please help us convince HH that this is a good idea.

Thankful Thursday -- Thankful for Atlantis

Just heard the boomies. Atlantis has returned. We're thankful today that they have returned safely.

I've donned my space suit for the last time. We will miss the space program. We have wonderful memories of all the shuttle launches and landings. Congratulations to all the brave men and women who have gone into space and worked on the program.

Max on Easy Like Sunday

Good Morning everybody....

I'm late blogging today cuz the boys were busy snoozing and I couldn't get a rise out of them for a comment today. Needless to say, they'll be napping and playing, followed by more napping today. I'm gonna encourage HH to get all her chores done while the boys are sleeping so she can break out the new toy she bought them yesterday when they wake up.

Just thinking...

It's the weekend.

Sometimes, early in the morning, I like to sit under the throne and contemplate the possibilities of the day. Today, I had one of those mornings. It's Saturday. All things are possible. Knuckles and I got up early to get a jump on the day. We have pulled out all the toys again and have our activities lined up.

What's up with you for the weekend? Whatever you do... have a great time.

Good Friday Morning...

Bugsy and I are in conference this morning. We are brainstorming on the topic: How to Increase Treat Dispensing at the Condo. Any and all suggestions welcome.

We're not complaining, mind you. HH is very good about feeding us on time every day. And our water dish always has fresh water in it. But we've been watching as Max surfs the web and visits many of your blogs. We see all the delicious possibilities out there for treats. So far we have been unsuccessful in convincing HH to give us some of every variety. She says it's for our own good ... she doesn't want us to get too chubby and have to put us on a diet...

So, we're appealing to you more experienced cats. What do you do to get your humans to give up the goods?

Knuckles on Cat Adoption... A Special Deal

Good Morning Everybody...

I was just checking the computer. I like to go to the SPCA of North Brevard once a week at least to see if any of my pals are still there. You see, HH adopted Bugsy and me from there, so we know some of those kitties. Happily, many of them have been adopted, too.

But, some have not. I'm so happy to be in the condo and to be with HH, and I'm so happy that she adopted Bugsy too. It's great to be with him everyday. I don't know if you've heard, but we do have a great time together. And when we are sleepy, we lean on each other...

Anyway, I thought I better point out to you that there are still kitties and doggies too who need homes. Many of you already have a full house. If so, thanks to you for giving homes to us.

I just wanted to point out that SPCA of North Brevard is having a special deal: Cats over 1 year old and with them for 8 months are only $20.11... Spread the word.

Bugsy on the Circle of Toys

Usually Max blogs on Monday.... but he said I could today because I just had to comment on that pile of toys HH rounded up for us yesterday.

Wow... You all saw them before we did. We didn't know we had so many toys. HH might be sleeping (napping) today because we were playing with them way into the night.

Anyway, just wanted to tell you all that we did find the pile and we did enjoy them.. Woooohoooo... now we're in the process of losing them again. Life goes in circles.

Easy Like Sunday...plus toys!!!

Today, the boys are engaging in the usual easy like Sunday behavior, but when they wake up... they have a pile of toys ready for their attention.

HH finished her cleaning and then piled up all the toys to surprise the boys. They will be thrilled to see all their old friends that got lost here and there in the condo.

Knuckles on moving toys.

Good morning everybody...

You'll have to s'cuse us today. Bugsy and I are working hard while HH is in the shower. We're moving all our toys out onto the porch...

You see, HH said something about doing one of her big cleanings today. I'm not sure what that means, but Max warned us that it's best to pick a spot and stay out of the way.

He also said that if she moves the couches, we'll have lots more toys by the end of the day. So we're looking forward to that part and are just gonna enjoy Bird TV on the porch until she puts the vacuum away.

Max on.... the Last Launch

I have leaky eyes today, pals... The last of the shuttle launches is scheduled for today at 11:26 AM EDT. I'm wearing my space suit until the launch, just in case they need me as an alternate. I'm also wearing it out of respect for all those hard working people at Cape Canaveral. I'm gonna miss the excitement of the launches, that's for sure.

So, they are predicting rain, but we're still hoping the launch will go off as scheduled. I'll keep you up to date on that on Twitter. Everybody have a great day and send strong purrs to the space program.

Knuckles on Thankful Thursday...

Good Morning Everybody...

Today is my day to post and I'm thankful that it is Thankful Thursday because I'd like to take this opportunity to say a few words to the person or cat who invented balls. See here, in the picture, is my pink ball, but I also have a yellow ball, a white ball, a striped ball with feathers coming out of it, a black ball, a red plastic ball with a bell in it, a red and green fabric ball with a bell in it, etc. etc....

I am very lucky to have so many balls. And, I am lucky that I figured out what to do with them without human intervention. Oh... I'm not saying that I don't get a kick out of it when HH throws and chases the balls too, but I am just as happy to make up my own game or play keep-away with Bugsy.

Anyway, I just wanted to take a little time to honor the inventor of the ball. What a nice thing you did for me and my pal, Bugsy.

Hi pals, I get to talk about the SPCA of North Brevard today. But first, I wanna tell you about the fireworks we had at our house over the last couple of days.

First off, at one point, we could see three different displays in three different directions from our porch on the third floor.

Knuckles ran with me to the porch when we heard the first boom. He stayed a couple of minutes, but he lost interest after a couple of booms (he has a short attention span). I stayed for the whole show... It was fantastic and I'm looking forward to July 4th next year.

Now, let's talk about what's going on at the SPCA of North Brevard. I noticed this special picture on their site this morning. It's about Madonna... she's Cat of the Week and she needs a home. Here she is and here's the information about her in her own words.

Max on Mondays: Happy Fourth of July

Good Morning, Pals... Hope you made it through all the boomies in your area last night. Just one more night of it to go for those of you who don't enjoy it. I must say, I've been so surprised by the boys.

When the boomies started, they both ran out to the porch to check it out. Knuckles soon came back to the living room to play, but Bugsy was entralled. He picked a spot by the window and sat there and watched the whole display.... and it was really close last night.

Hope you all have something wonderful planned for today. We're gonna be counting the minutes until the boomies start again....
