Max on... Blaize Clement

Hi Pals... I have some bad news and then some good news. First, I don't know if you remember but a while back... Like in March or April of 2010, I reviewed a book by Blaize Clement. I gave it a good review because it was about a cat sitter and it was a mystery. A perfect combination and it also was part of a series, so I had other books to look forward to. Most of all, I liked it because the book showed that Blaize Clement really liked cats...

Well, I had made a comprehensive sweep of the blogs "only occasionally" I follow for quite a while. To my shock, I discovered that Blaize Clement has passed away. That makes me very sad. Her son wrote two wonderful blog posts about her and her work.

Well, his posts really moved me. It seems that she knew that her days were numbered and she worked up to the end. The publisher too, planned ahead. There are a couple more of her books coming out and the publisher has made arrangements for her son, John Clement, to take over writing books after that.

I just think it's neat that her series will live on. It's a great tribute to her. Just thought you would like to know this if you're a fan of her books. And, I'd like to say thank you to her for writing such great books.

Tuna Tuesday Everybuddy....

Good Morning pals. It's Toooona Tuesday. I do love Tuesdays.

Do you have your own fish bowl? The boys want one, but I don't think HH believes they would take care of the fishies... She thinks they might eat them... I kinda agree with her... I think they would be diving into that bowl at the first opportunity.

Bugsy here has the right idea. He's keeping cool with a Tunacicle. However you decide to celebrate, enjoy Tuna Tuesday.

Max on Monday...

Maybe we had a little too much Easy on Sunday yesterday. I'm a little slow in getting around to posting this morning. Anyway, just want to catch you up on a few things...

1. It seems to me... that Fall is finally coming to our area a little bit. The humidity isn't as high and that's great for the boys furs... and HH is loving the cooler weather, too.

2. It also seems to me... that the boys are a little calmer since they've turned one. Oh, they run and jump plenty, but they put more thought into their actions. I wouldn't call it maturity... they are still pretty silly boys full of mischief, but they are not slamming into walls as often when they race around a corner.



3. And, it also seems to me... that the boys have finally learned the fine art of cleaning off the desk top. They still function as paperweights some of the time, but they are also learning the sheer joy of nonchalantly kicking a pile of papers for the sheer joy of watching them float to the floor. (HH doesn't think that's progress but I do. It was one of my jobs to keep all surfaces clear. Ahhhhh... Bugsy and Knuckles are following in my pawprints and it makes me so proud.)

Nothing better than Easy Like Sunday. We've got our easy on over here. Oh, the boys will wake up for a run or two around the condo, but mostly it'll be an e...a...s...y... day over here. Hope you have one too.

Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable Pet Week

Good morning everybody. I'm bringing you an important message today. As you can see, this week is Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable Pet Week. I firmly believe that older pets or those with some special look or condition are just as loving as the cute little puppies and kittens that are adopted so easily.

Hi there, my name is Bozlo! I was born in April 2003, and I was surrendered with my buddies, Vixin and Velvet, because our owners lost their home. They brought us here in hopes we would find new FURRever homes. We were already fixed when we got here so now we've been tested, vaccinated, and micro-chipped too. We are ready for our new FURRever homes. My previous owner said I am a snuggle bug, and I would love to have a new bed to call my very own. I hope to see you soon. Love, Bozlo

Art Galleries can help animals too. Yep... Meet Brutus... He's a black cat and is in need of a home. He is at the Humane Society of South Brevard and needs your help. There are others there too.



The Art Gallery of Viera has decided to help all those black and otherwise kitties needing homes. They are having a Halloweird Exhibit and are asking those who attend to bring in cat food, toys, paper towels, and money (if they want) to help the shelter. And, they are encouraging others to adopt too. Yay for the Art Gallery of Viera... WE do love them.

As you can see, the opening for the exhibit is October 8, 2011, from 6pm to 9pm. You are all invited if you're in the area...

Easy Like Sunday... What mask?

Good Morning, Pals.... Nuffin' special going on over here today... Yesterday, Bugsy said something about Halloween, but believe me he was all wrong. Nuffin happened over here in preparation for Halloween... Nuffin at all (at least, that's what HH told us to say).

What...? Oh... well I don't know what that is on my face. HH said not to breathe a peep of our plans before halloween gets here, so I'm keeping to my word on that. (I know who fills the kibble bowl.)

Yup, Knuckles is trying to muscle in on my day to blog.

Well, I'm gonna hog the scene today cuz I want to tell you what we are doing today. I think we are playing Halloween. I don't know what that is for sure, but I heard HH talking about it.

And, I peeked in a little bag in the kitchen and I saw a pumpkin bag and a couple of other things. I'm not sure what's going on, but whatever it is, I'm up for it.

I tell you.... before HH, holidays were not nearly as much fun. Now that we live with HH, there's a surprise around every corner......

I'll let you know when I find out what's going on.

Mr. Sand Hill Crane in our parking lot.

Lookie...lookie who was walking through the condo parking lot. Yep... it's a Sand Hill Crane. I wish i could show you how big he is. I can explain it this way ... I would only come up to his knee -- maybe not that far.

They are very friendly birds and live over across the street on the golf course. There's even a sign out there that says "Sand Hill Crane Crossing" and has a picture of this guy and his family on it. I don't think they can read, however, so I don't know how they know where they are supposed to cross.

Don't get excited out there critter pals... This is not a bird for chasing or for eating. He's a bird for riding. The boys are hoping to talk him into taking them for a fly. They would be thankful for that. Me, I'm thankful for all my friends... that's you. Have a great day.

Ginger needs a home.

Good Morning... Bugsy and Knuckles just realized that Halloween is coming and after that Christmas and New Years. Last year they were in the SPCA of North Brevard. This year they are looking forward to having a great time on all the holidays. Knuckles is licking his lips thinking about all the holiday treats.

But before they get to planning for the holidays, they wanted me to tell you about Ginger.

She's the Cat of the Week at the SPCA of North Brevard and she needs a home. Please click on her poster to biggify and let's help get the word out about her...



Orange cats are cool and orange is such a great color for Halloween, so the boys want to find her a home before then. Thanks for your help and send anyone interested to the SPCA of North Brevard in Florida.

Thankful Thursday-Thoughts on being a paperweight

It's Thankful Thursday and I'm thankful for my job. You see this pile of books and papers. Well, my job is as chief paperweight for HH. It's an important job around here. Imagine what might happen if I move from my place on top of this pile.

When I see a pile of papers, I know I have to do something about it. Believe me, I have a great work life around here. HH is working on a couple of books and that makes for lots of piles. Knuckles is my backup. When I start to slip off the pile, he steps in to help.

So, if you need me for anything, you'll know where to find me. Oh, and I'm also thankful for all my friends out there. Have a great day.
