A pet peeve is a minor annoyance that an individual finds particularly annoying to him. When I tried to look up where the term came from, the best answer I saw was that "pets" are "favorites" and "peeves" are "irritants." So pet peeves are our favorite annoyances. I don't know if the person in the book knew what he was talking about, but I do know that Bugsy has a pet peeve... That's for sure...
The other day, HH was sitting on the bed and Bugsy and knuckles were stretched out all in a row with about 6 inches between where Bugsy's nose left off and Knuckles' tail began.
Well, the boys were trying to take a nap and HH looked over and noticed that Bugsy was having trouble settling down. It seems that Knuckles', in sleep, was waving his tail -- just the last two inches of it. Slowly, it went up and down, up and down.
It didn't bother HH in the least, but it distracted Bugsy from his nap. After waiting a little bit for Knuckles to settle down, Bugsy reached over and put his paw on the tip of Knuckles' tail to gently hold it in place. That's all he needed. Shortly after that, he fell fast asleep and they slept quietly in that position for the rest of the afternoon.

Now that's cute! We don't sleep close enough to each other to do that, but we think it was very clever of Bugsy to hold down the offending appendage.

What a cute story... and we have done the same thing here! Except when I was a kitten, I'd forget about the nap altogether and use Binga's tail as a toy.
That's very cute! Our mommy tries to do that when every night Angel sits on the nightstand and wags the last couple of inches of her floofy tail in Mommy's face!

What an adorable story! Bugsy is quite the problem solver haha! I also like how you looked up the origin of pet peeve... interesting observation. I'll have to keep that in mind next time I say pet peeve and make sure it's a favorite annoyance instead just an annoying annoyance I suppose...
